Three Czech Lions for Better Go mad in the Wild

The film Better Go Mad in the Wild won three awards at the Czech Lion ceremony: Best Documentary Film, Best Cinematography, and Best Editing. It converted three out of its four nominations into wins. This marks a historic moment: never before has a documentary film won three Czech Lions, and for the first time, a documentary triumphed in the Best Cinematography category.


Best Documentary Film
In this category, Raději zešílet v divočině was nominated alongside the following films:

  • Co s Péťou? (What About Petey?)
  • Dům bez východu (The Impossibility)
  • Ta druhá (The Other One)
  • Velký vlastenecký výlet (Change My Mind)

The award for Best Documentary Film goes to director and Slovak producer Miro Remo, and Czech producers Pavel Kubeček and Tomáš Hrubý.

Best Cinematography
In the cinematography category, Raději zešílet v divočině prevailed against the following strong nominations:

  • Franz – Tomasz Naumiuk
  • Karavan – Simona Weisslechner, Denisa Buranová
  • Promise, I’ll Be Fine – Tomáš Kotas
  • Broken Voices – Lukáš Milota

The award in this category was won by cinematographers Dušan Husár and Miro Remo.

Best Editing
In the editing category, the film competed with the following nominees:

  • Franz – Pavel Hrdlička
  • Karavan – Adam Brothánek
  • Summer School, 2001 – Jakub Jelínek, Jakub Podmanický
  • Broken Voices – Anna Johnson Ryndová

The award in this category went to Máté Csuport and Šimon Hájek.

This achievement represents significant recognition from the Czech Film and Television Academy and confirms that Raději zešílet v divočině succeeded not only in the documentary section but also in technically demanding categories, competing against strong Czech titles.
